Our client, one of New Zealand’s leading organisations in first response lifesaving, is currently recruiting for a highly skilled professional with an exceptional level of proficiency and experience working across emergency, primary and secondary care.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high quality un-scheduled patient care is delivered in-line with an organisational framework.
As an absolute minimum the ideal candidate will hold a full qualification in Advanced Life Support and will have attended a, or an accepted equivalent of the, 24 week Extended Care Paramedic course at a tertiary level and will hold a relevant diploma in emergency / pre-hospital care.
Ideally the candidate will have an on-going desire to continue to build and learn new skills and will understand the need to continue to develop academically and remain up to date in all areas of practice. We will require evidence of continued professional development.
An important dimension to the role is to be able to maintain existing and develop new relationships with external agencies and working across organisational boundaries within health and social care. Therefore clear and concise oral and written communication skills are central to this role and the need to be an effective communicator and problem solver in high pressure situations is a key component.
An effective leader within a team environment and someone who has the capacity to work autonomously would be the ideal fit for this position. The ability to efficiently manage your time and first-class organisational skills will be required to carry out this role as presenting care reports, clinical information and other complex information is a crucial part of the role.
Integrity, honesty and commitment to the role are core elements, while self-discipline and the experience of managing stressful situations without supervision are considered necessary skills.
