Asia - Europe - South America - North America - Africa - Australasia
Christianity - Buddhism - Islam - Judaism - Hinduism - Atheism
After the Human Rights Act in the UK (2000) Article 9, 'Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion'
'The enjoyment of the rights and freedoms set forth in this convention shall be secured without discrimination on any ground such as sex, race, colour, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, association with a national minority, property, birth or other status.' (Discrimination Act, Article 14)
Oxford has a higher proportion of people from black and minority ethnic (BME) groups than the national average.
But what do we know about our fellow citizens and how does it affect us in our daily community life?
Join us on a day long celebration on multicultural diversity! This includes presentations, dicussions and an invitation to share experiences from a woman's point of view. We hope to extend our cultural knowledge, and work towards a tolerant and supportive community.
Bring and share your favorite foreign dish, music and a couple of images you would like to share (not necessary though)!
This is a women-only event
