Part-time Technical Computing Support Officer (20 hours week)

Applications are invited for the position of Technical/Computing Support Officer at the University of Oxford Centre for Clinical Magnetic Resonance Research (OCMR), which is based in a University of Oxford facility at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. The post-holder will be responsible for providing software and hardware support for researchers using the facility, including interfacing equipment with PCs for running experiments.

The ideal candidate will have a good practical knowledge of computer hardware and software installation, hardware maintenance and support, a working knowledge of basic electronics and a proven ability to work as part of a team. Candidates should have a degree level qualification or extensive experience in an electronic, computing or technical-related discipline. Additional desirable skills include experience of supporting Microsoft networked computing environments and computer construction.

The post is funded for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal, and is subject to a successful probationary period of six months. The post is available immediately.
