A traditional oil painting course at Wheatley Park College, starting Tuesday 17th November. Run by William Cotterill, a graduate of Central Saint Martins, the course will cover both practical and theoretical aspects of oil painting, from stretching a canvas to building up a painting in layers.

Students will work on their own paintings, with constant assistance from the tutor. Focus will be given to the methods of the old masters, such as Rembrandt and Velázquez.

This course is suitable for beginners to advanced, and is an ideal introduction to the practice of oil painting.
