There is a scam which is very convincing, about a single father who's just lost his wife, and wants a nanny. There are tons of them all over gumtree, using different emails and names, and slightly different stories, in all different cities, and they are very very convincing. I never thought this would happen to me, but it has, and it's made me feel very sick. The fact that these things can be so elaborate.
They say their company is sending out a cheque, and ask you to withdraw money early to send to them. By this point, its quite obvious. But please just be careful not to be sucked into these frauds.
