Two channels can be used independently (for 2 different instruments / vocals or can be coupled for stereo operation.

Great metering for immediate visual cues as to how it's operating, when it's compressing the signla and by how much.

The MDX1400 has a dynamic enhancer, which allows for subtle, musical compensation.

Great on vocals and bass guitars. Also expecially useful on acoustic instruments as it tames the peaks and brings out the body of the sound.
