Exceptional Couple to run winter chalet for up to twelve guests per week
We are a small family run business with a six bedroomed chalet based in the high altitude international ski town of Arosa, with train connection to Zurich. This job vacancy allows a competent organised couple to maximise their time on snow this winter. We have been in operation for 15 years and pride ourselves on offering fantastic accommodation and friendly professional service for groups expecting a "best ever" catered chalet holiday.
We are looking for a German and English speaking self-motivated couple, who are able to entertain, and are happy around children, who really care for their job - including food presentation, guests, employer, chalet, and themselves. Non smokers are essential, of good health and positive disposition, and people without visible facial piercings or tattoos please.
Early risers are required for 7am start to clear freshly fallen snow – every day throughout the winter (a 30 minute job, but will need to be repeated in the day during heavy snowfall - leaving it is not an option).
The Chef will be responsible for the fresh preparation of six impressive dinner party style evening meals, using local produce, six breakfasts, (continental, a cooked dish, and offering porridge), and six afternoon cakes/biscuits per week. Weekly planning is to include the shopping and cooking to budget, and kitchen care. You will also be asked to prepare an earlier staff meal and pre-dinner canapés for the guests. A qualification and experience is essential.
Host duties will include chalet care and organisation, laying up and clearing away tables, thorough cleaning from top to bottom six days out of seven, inventories, laundry organization, and flair of making everything homely and well-presented.
Applicants should have previous kitchen, housekeeping and hospitality experience, with excellent customer service skills.
The package includes local pay, accommodation three minutes bus from ski lifts, season lift pass, swiss worker taxes, meals, bills, wifi access, ski hire, lift pass, personal laundry facilities, and one day off from chalet duties per week, except the snow clearing.
There is a great season workers social scene if you speak German or even better, Swiss German. Have a look at our website at www.snowypockets.co.uk
or Arosa on facebook
As we are a small operation, you must be able to communicate clearly and interact with our international guests, giving a welcome speech on their first day to set the professional and friendly tone for the week.
Please send us an email with any questions, your photo and CV attached, with a variety of meals you can currently cook for dinner parties, including vegetarian, dairy free, and gluten free.
