Public Health Researcher Clinical Research Officer
To provide independent, high quality, defensible evidence based reviews on the clinical and cost effectiveness on a wide range of health care interventions to NHS commissioners, to engage with local and national experts, commissioners and patient groups and to identify current treatments and care pathways and future commissioning options for investment or disinvestment for therapies in specific populations.
To lead on a broad range of complex programme work, using specialist knowledge in an range of areas , across South Central and beyond including literature reviews, evaluations, and other topic based work to promote the development and delivery of improved performance, support recommendations on future service delivery, strategic direction, working to improve service quality and implementation of national policies and targets for project commissioners.
To monitor progress of commissioned work and .
provide specific advice based on project work to commissioners on disinvestment for drug and treatments in specific populations.
To act as the lead a specialist for the team on literature view and economic review work and use this knowledge and contacts to bring more work and income into Priorities Support Unit.

- Ability to undertake high quality literature searches and critically appraise literature
Knowledge of evaluation methodology, study design and statistical methods
Knowledge and understanding of care pathways, service reviews and the development of service specifications.
- Ability to manage and prioritise ones own time and deliver to tight deadlines.
Motivation and skills to identify and track information sources which may not be routinely available.
- Understanding of programme budgeting and marginal analysis techniques
Good working knowledge of the NHS organisations
- Accuracy, attention to detail
- MS Office

- Work independently, referring to manager and other team members as needed
understanding of different stakeholder needs and interests and the ability to facilitate consensus
- Ability to concentrate for long periods of time as required for analysing and interpreting data
