To start: immediate
£160 per weekend worked, (Friday 7.30pm – Sunday 7.30pm)
With minimum 2 hours off per day
Based in central Oxford – own spacious room with TV and WiFi connection
Car provided
Extra days may be required / requested over Christmas & New Year
What the role involves:
MAKING WEEKENDS FUN!
Cooking meals, driving and accompaniment to parties, dinners, theatre, cinema etc.
Carer – help with getting up, going to bed, dressing / undressing, standing and sitting (mobilises independently – though occasionally uses a wheeled walking aid in the home), aid with external urinary drainage system, eye drops throughout the day and at bed time, giving oral medication at mealtimes.
A bit about the job:
This is a family orientated role to allow for frequent visits and visitors to continue an important and varied social life. Maintaining independence in all daily activities is vital in providing dignity and a positive outlook on life. Although this is a 24 hour job, care is not required 24 hours. Your suggestions for weekend activities are vital and welcome.
Interests and enjoyment: Theatre going, reading, food and wine, daily walks, classical music and being with family and friends.

We are looking for a positive, caring, flexible, good humoured, reliable person as a companion for a mild mannered, good humoured gentleman.
Other job information:
We pay £160 per weekend worked (Friday 7.30pm – Sunday 7.30pm). This includes your tax and N.I.
Contracted probationary period of 4 weeks can then be extended if all parties are happy
Holiday to be accrued at 24 hours for every 12 days worked – can be worked and paid or taken
Requirements:
A valid EU work Visa
A National Insurance number
Fluent English (written and verbal)
CRB checked
Confident driver required – full driving licence.
Non Smoker
Availability to work in excess of 6 months
Open-mindedness, sociable, friendly, caring, compassionate, sense of humour, flexible
Experience is not a requirement, but could help
A bit about Parkinson’s:
Bradykinesia is slowness in voluntary movement. It produces difficulty initiating movement as well as difficulty completing movement once it is in progress.
Rigidity, or stiff muscles, may produce muscle pain and facial masking.
Poor balance is due to the impairment or loss of the reflexes that adjust posture in order to maintain balance.
Parkinsonian gait is the distinctive unsteady walk associated with Parkinson's disease. There is a tendency to lean unnaturally forward, and to develop a stooped, head-down, shoulders-drooped stance. People with Parkinson's tend to take small shuffling steps.
