Audiolab 8000P E Serial Number Power Amplifier.

I have finally had to part with my Auiolab/Marantz/Kef Hi-Fi set up which has been owned since new and been well cared for and loved.

Getting into Hi-Fi I naturally chose Audiolab for amplification as it was THE brand to buy at the time and highly regarded by many people. Audiolab offered a great upgrade path by being able to add Power Amplifiers to their Integrated Amplifiers for more power and control. What Hifi used Audiolab in their reference set up for many years.

I ran the 8000A seen in the picture adequately in bi-amp mode with one sets of speaker terminals sending treble and the other bass to my Kef Reference 103/4 Speakers. Adding the 8000P added further weight and control to the bass whilst retaining the 8000A for treble. For this reason many use the 8000A instead of the 8000C which is preamp only.

This is the last but 1 model year of the Audiolab 8000P with production ceasing at the F serial number. A PX model was then introduced and the TAG McLaren branded components. Audiolab is back in the shops and looks the same apart from their new grey colour and being made in the Far East. This is one of the last British made amplifiers and not many come up in this condition.

Boxed with Manual and Mains Cable. I will also throw in the Audiolab brochure from this period too.

Vestax Turntable and 8000A also shown in picture not for sale. This is simply for the 8000P.

Technical Specification:

Continuous Average Power Output: Both Channels driven (8ohms) 20Hz to 20kHz. Minimum 100 Watts (20dBW) per channel.

Total Harmonic and Intermodulation (IHF IM) Distortion: Both channels driven, any power level to rated output, any frequency 20Hz to 20kHz (THD), less than 0.05%.

Load Impedance (Speakers) 4ohms to 16ohms

Input Sensitivoty and Impedence: 1.00V RMS for 100 watts (20dBW) 8phms output. Input impedence 50K. Input Load is connected in parallel with Input socket.

Gain: 29.0dB and 1kHz
