Summary of requirements:
The main purpose of this role will be to enter maritime information and intelligence into the Company's databases, and to ensure the integrity of associated links and visual representation.
The role will ideally require the Data Processing Assistant to have:
Experience of collating and inputting data into a variety of databases.
Experience of analysing and presenting data, using bespoke software tools.
Knowledge of the difference between information and intelligence, and how both support investigative services.
A high level of IT proficiency, and an experienced and adept user of the Internet.
The ability to work on their own initiative in order to complete complex tasks within given parameters, in order to meet objectives set by the Company and /or its clients.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Proactively contribute to the efficient and successful operation of the Intelligence Centre by:
Entering data precisely, efficiently and logically into the Company databases and folders
Linking intelligence while paying particular attention to ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Handling, storing and scanning hard copy and soft copy files and folders in an efficient and diligent manner.
Learning to operate and apply all software tools used by the company, in order to support investigators and intelligence officers in all tasks.
Maintaining archives and case file stores.
Rapid and deep searching of open sources, predominantly the Internet, to support the intelligence centre.
Exercising tact, consideration, diplomacy, subtlety of approach, clarity and relevance of expression, knowledge, expertise and appropriate skill in all aspects of the job.
Adhering strictly to all current and future administrative procedures relating to the position and in accordance with the Company's Employee Handbook and other Company rules/ guidelines, as are in force.
