A performing arts workshop for adults will be held at the Preston Road Community Centre in Abingdon on Sunday 23 August 2009. The workshop will run between 2 and 5pm, cost £3 per person and will include dancing and singing sessions. The workshop has been organised by three friends to combat the lack of performing arts groups in the south Oxfordshire area for over 16’s.
The friends met in their teens at a local stage school and would like to introduce a regular group to the area if the workshop generates enough interest. They are currently focused towards staging a modern pantomime over the Christmas period.
If the group makes it off the ground, the idea is to cater to dancers, singers and actors alike.
