Job Description:
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on product manager for our flagship product Billmonitor.com: the UK’s first Ofcom accredited mobile price comparison engine. Your first order of business is driving delivery of a co-branded version of our service to a key strategic partner in a demanding timeframe. You need to hit the ground running.
Optimor’s next generation comparison technology uses state-of-the-art research in mathematical statistics by Oxford academics to provide accurate, personalised and ethical recommendations to our customers.
We are a two year old UK based start-up with locations in Oxford and London, supported by Europe’s leading early stage investors, The Accelerator Group and Finance South East. We are growing quickly in order to meet new business opportunities.
Responsibilities:
* Effectively collaborate with business, marketing, and technical teams as well as strategic business partners to develop requirements, drive projects to completion, and bring products to market.
* Meticulously think through every aspect of the user experience, putting users’ needs and expectations first in the definition of requirements.
* Build positive relationships and trust with the product development team and with strategic partners.
Requirements:
* 3-5 years of Web site product management experience.
* An excellent track record of developing and launching products.
* A passion for product design and the user experience.
* Ability to balance consumer needs with business priorities, and articulate the rationale behind decisions.
* Outstanding team player with the ability to co-ordinate people and activities across multiple functional disciplines.
* Outstanding communications, product leadership, and negotiating skills.
* Excellent judgement and analytical skills.
* A solid understanding of Internet technologies and product and business trends.
Extras that make you stand out:
* Agile/Scrum experience: writing user stories, managing & prioritising product backlog, supporting iterations, etc.
* Software development / engineering background.
