My aim is create a powerful, varied and largely improvisational group to stir up the live music scene around here. I'm looking for decent musicians with good feel to collaborate with on the project- the unusual element here is that I want songs to be structured (i.e. Section A/B/C/D etc.), but- for most of the songs/tunes to have an open structure, allowing for improvisation/ spontanaity to happen.
I envisage maybe nominating one band member per tune to give the nod between sections. Ideally, this should mean that everyone stays fresh and listens to each other. I would hope to record lots of what is done so the good stuff doesn't get lost. Hopefully, this will mean gigs are more fun, that there will be better communication between us and that the band will be broadly democratic.

Me: I play keyboards, accordion, trombone and played in ska bands, reggae bands and a funk outfit. Looking for the new sound (!) ;)
I live rurally outside Eynsham and so, until we're ready for the studio, am happy to make noise and rehearse here.
